Corazón en el Diamante is a heartfelt story about Cecilia, a passionate 15-year-old baseball player, and her mother Gloria, who grapples with the challenges of immigration and family sacrifice. As Gloria fights to resolve her expired green card to visit her dying mother in Mexico, Cecilia struggles with the potential upheaval of her life in the U.S. Through emotional confrontations and acts of love, they ultimately reaffirm their bond, finding strength in their resilience and shared determination.

 

Get to know the Director Martha Rodriguez

Martha Rodriguez, a proud first-generation Latina, was born and raised in San Diego, California, to immigrant parents from Guanajuato, Mexico. She graduated with honors from San Diego State University, earning a degree in Television, Film, and New Media Production. In December 2024, Martha achieved another milestone by graduating with a Master of Fine Arts in Television and Film Production from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles.

Driven by a deep passion for storytelling, Martha is dedicated to bringing authentic change to the Film and Television industry. She specializes in crafting bilingual narratives that explore themes of immigration, identity, and family, all deeply rooted in her Mexican heritage. Her mission is to foster greater inclusivity both on and off the screen. With unwavering determination, Martha is committed to writing, producing, and directing everyday stories that celebrate and uplift her Mexican-American culture and community.
