Rich Varville is an award-winning director, writer, and editor based in Southern California and the founder of RSVP Films LLC. With over 30 years of experience in creative media, he brings a strong sense of rhythm, mood, and psychological depth to every project.
Starting in music production, Rich’s creative path shifted after directing a music video that evolved into a short narrative film. Since then, he’s directed two feature films and over 40 shorts and music videos—often also serving as editor and sound designer.
His work blends psychological realism with genre elements like horror, thriller, and mystery. Recent credits include directing the 2025 San Diego Film Awards, and developing his next feature, DEATHBED, a psychological horror currently in pre-production. He’s also 2nd Unit Director and producer on Attack of the Killer Tomatoes: Organic Intelligence, set for theatrical release in 2026.
Rich’s films have earned awards for Best Director, Best Film, and Best Cinematography, including a win at the 2024 San Diego Film Awards. He continues developing bold, character-driven stories under RSVP Films.
