This panel explores the unique challenges and successes of producing feature films in San Diego. Filmmakers share their experiences, discussing the hurdles they’ve overcome and the triumphs they’ve achieved in the local film industry.


Meet one of the instructors, Brent Bokovoy

Brent Bokovoy is an award-winning writer and director from San Diego, Ca. His short films have won awards from Universal Studios and the Horror magazine, Rue Morgue for best short horror film of the year. Brent just completed his first feature film which won the award for best writing at the 2023 San Diego Film Awards. The feature film, Ronald’s Little Factory, was also nominated at Kevin Smith’s Smodcastle Film Festival for best comedy as well as best feature at the Idyllwild Film Festival.

Meet one of the instructors, Shannon Mann

 

Shannon E. Mann is a Line Producer for Turning Point Studios and Promotions/Special Projects Manager at Turning Point with David Jeremiah. A native of Atlanta, Georgia she has been involved in theater and television productions since childhood. Having worked as both an actress and a director, Shannon brought a unique perspective to Turning Point and has been working as a producer with the company for the past five years helping develop programming that is aired around the world. She has a B.A. in Journalism from Georgia State University and a M.A. from Liberty University.


Participants will receive an Award of Completion for each workshop they attend.
2.0 quarter units will be given for those who attend the full week of sessions.
