Rizz assist gone WRONG

Directed by Moises Cardenas

When a good samaritan decides to “rizz assist” a fellow stranger in front of their girlfriend, he is quickly put to the test as to how far he’ll go to help his fellow man.

Director Statement

Moises Cardenas is a first-generation Mexican-American filmmaker. The first in his family to graduate college, he earned his A.S. in Film from San Diego City College before graduating with his B.A. in Cinematic Arts from CSU Long Beach.

His work was most recently selected for the 2026 San Diego Latino Film Festival and featured in the San Diego Union-Tribune.

Raised on a steady diet of multicultural comedy staples (ranging from “Superbad” and “Chappelle’s Show” to “La Familia P. Luche”), Moises gravitates toward comedy across both sketch and narrative film. No matter what project he tackles, his goal is always twofold: make the audience laugh, and to touch them… wait, that came out wrong.
