Director Statement

“We can’t afford to let ourselves be guided by contemporary cultural standards, particularly now.” This quote from Martin Scorsese has been a guiding compass for me over the course of my academic studies in film. One of my main interests throughout my pursuit in storytelling has been the representation of marginalized communities and their personal stories. I chose to be part of this industry in an effort to help create and promote films from voices that are often overlooked. I am particularly drawn to stories that document the experience of migration, especially those narratives that have been left out of the cinematic landscape. This personal connection has inspired me integrate myself into the film industry, in effort to help provide a platform for immigrant filmmakers and artists.
