Front Row

Front Row

Directed by Julian Rodriguez

A sound guy at a comedy club remembers his late brother’s advice to overcome his fear of doing stand-up.

Director Statement

When I worked as a sound guy at Mic Drop Comedy, I was surrounded by talented comedians and the hardworking club staff. After seeing the incredible acts onstage and hundreds of people laughing together in a darkened room, I fell in love with stand-up and knew my next film had to be about this art form. As an employee, I was too scared to get onstage, but for this film, I want to show how rewarding it is to take a chance and speak your truth. I hope audiences enjoy “Front Row” and appreciate the lead character’s journey from grief to bravery.
