Apnea

Apnea

Directed by David C. Nelson

A sleep-deprived woman sets up a camcorder to record herself at night, hoping to prove something is visiting her, only to capture her own slow suffocation at the hands of an unknown entity.

Director Statement

Apnea, shot on a hybrid of a Sony digital cinema camera and a vintage VHS format, explores sleep paralysis, isolation, and dread through the lens of a woman documenting the thing that visits her in the night. Based in inland North County San Diego, I continue to develop both short and feature-length projects that pair visual precision with grounded, human horror.
