Community Involvement

The 2026 San Diego Film Week will be all about celebrating our extended film family. Over the years, we’ve grown into a vibrant, supportive, and talented community—and this year, we’re excited to open the doors even wider.

We want Film Week to feel like a true reflection of the people who make up our creative ecosystem, so we’re expanding the festival to highlight events, workshops, and gatherings created by our community, for our community.

We’re inviting local organizations, production companies, schools, collectives, and all members of our Film Consortium family to participate by organizing and hosting their own event during Film Week. This could be a hands-on workshop, filmmaker mixer, panel discussion, screening, community meetup, or any gathering that celebrates storytelling and creativity. While each participant will plan and run their own event independently, we will include it in our official Film Week marketing, helping spotlight your work and bring our community together under one exciting, collaborative festival.
