Get to know the Director Rich Varville

Rich Varville is an award winning San Diego based filmmaker and recording artist that gained
notoriety from his unique style of story-based, cinematic, music films. In addition, he writes,
produces, and directs narrative, industrial, and documentary films through his company RSVP
FILMS.
Originally from Colorado Springs, Colorado, he studied media production at Pikes Peak College
before relocating to San Diego and studying psychology at Palomar College in San Marcos, CA.
These two very different studies eventually lead to his vision of creating thought provoking films
that illustrate the human condition.
Rich has written and recorded several albums, both as artist and engineer, has over 1000 live
performances to his credit, and appeared as a performer in several music videos. With more
than twenty five years experience working with clients and artists he has honed his skills as a
writer; director; editor; and sound designer.
Having recently finished an inspirational feature film that won the 2021 San Diego Movie Awards
“Best Feature Film in All Genres”; a concept reel for a multi-million dollar television series that is
a finalist at the 2021 Los Angeles Film Awards from more than 400 films; completed a
psychological thriller which he penned which won awards for Best Visual Effects and Best Male
Lead Actor (Shane P Allen, Sully) at the 2020 San Diego Film Awards, Rich consistently has
projects in various stages of development and production.
