Keone & Mari Madrid are an award-winning choreographer-director team, as well as husband and wife. They excel in storytelling through intricate choreography, transcending the dance world into theater, music, film, and online platforms. Their innovative approach, which embraces all human movements, resonates widely.
Notable works include Disney’s animated short “Us Again,” Broadway shows, Justin Bieber’s “Love Yourself” music video, collaborations with BTS, Billie Eilish, Ed Sheeran, Flying Lotus, and Kendrick Lamar. They’ve received nominations for best choreography at the MTV and UK Video Music Awards, and their projects span Cirque, “World of Dance,” “So You Think You Can Dance,” and “Dancing With the Stars.” Their online content has garnered billions of views.
Recently, they directed and choreographed three theater shows: the Drama Desk-nominated “Beyond Babel,” Broadway-bound “Once Upon a One More Time,” and “The Karate Kid” musical. “Us Again” was shortlisted for an Academy Award and won an NAACP Image Award for Animated Short Film. Additionally, their documentary short “Lolo” has won awards at various film festivals, including Oscar-qualifying events.
