Our Story
Since 2017, Film Week has been the only local film festival that exclusively showcases, celebrates and grows our local film industry. Film Week promotes the the diverse filmmakers, actors, production companies, studios, schools, artists and creatives that make up the local community.
After many years of producing weekend festivals and hosting the San Diego Film Awards, Film Consortium started receiving hundreds of films each year and decided to step it up. Inspired by “San Diego Beer Week”, San Diego Film Week was born as a space to showcase and celebrate many talented filmmakers as well as other local organizations.
Like most film festivals, we’ve been forced to adapt to changing conditions over the last several years. Although our festival has changed, we continue to maintain our focus on locally produced content and opportunities for networking, screenings and Q&A’s.
Every year you can attend a screening or event, participate in Q&A’s, attend networking events, or just join the fun on social media.
