Derrick Acosta is an Actor, Writer, Director, Producer and Co-founder / VP of Mega64. Hailing from San Diego California, Derrick has directed commercials, music Videos, short films as well as Acting and Directing hundreds of internet comedy skits.

After founding Mega64 with Rocco Botte and Shawn Chatfield in 2003, the team went on to have great success on the internet with their comedy show featuring skits about video game and internet culture. The group quickly attracted the attention of companies such as MTV, Spike TV, Nintendo, Sony, Microsoft, Hasbro, among others, and Mega64 has uniquely been able to collaborate with many highly respected video game developers who have made a cameo in the group’s comedy skits over the years.

Cameo’s include: Shigeru Miyamoto (Creator of Super Mario Bros, The Legend of Zelda), Hideo Kojima (Creator of the Metal Gear Solid series), Cliff Bleszinski ( Creator of Gears of War), Ken Kutaragi (Creator of Sony Playstation), Gabe Newell (Co-founder of Valve), Hironobu Sakaguchi (Creator of Final Fantasy series), Yu Suzuki (Head engineer at SEGA, Creator of Virtual Fighter, Shenmu series) , Reggie Fils-Aimé (President of Nintendo America), Dan Paladin (Co-Founder at Behemoth Games), and more.

Acosta is also a Music Video Director and has collaborated with artists such as Shepard Fairy, DJ Z-Trip, Gary Wilson, Dead Heavens, Mrs. Magician, and more.

In 2015, Derrick Acosta and Mega64 were featured in Variety magazine’s article “Top 10 comedians to watch in 2015”.

Mega64 operates its own production studio out of a historic neighborhood in San Diego, California. Derrick is developing feature films, TV series and web series while, at the same time, maintaining a you tube channel with over 450,000 subscribers and more than 150 Million views.
